Its like a Monday morning on a Thursday"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."
All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.0 -
Has anyone else got absolutely no jobs at all showing on Aba-i, or is it just me?0

I agree that in an ideal world what we as MSers provide should be used to improve service etc as much as to reward good staff members.
However in reality bad results are often used to punish staff members and in some cases hurt them financially. For example I know someone who works in a bank and the wages are quite low so the staff rely on their bonuses. One bad MS report and everyone in the whole branch losses their bonus, so yes sometimes it is worth getting into a fight over, they have a lot to lose!
I used to work as a bar tender at a club in covent garden and we used to have mystery shoppers come round at least once a month.
We of course didn't know when they were coming, but we were told by the manager that if the bartender who served the secret shopper didn't get 100% on the report, they would get fired and have to leave straight away.
I was terrified that I would get a shopper because I hadn't been working there very long and sometimes I would make little mistakes - 1 guy got 98% when the mystery shopper came round and was taken straight off the floor and asked to leave. He was really lovely and did his job well and 2% from perfect is hardly bad, surely?!
If I ever see that bar come up on my mystery shops I won't accept it because I think that policy is appalling and I would be tempted to just give them 100% to save somebodies job, bu then that isn't being fair and honest to your role as a mystery shopper.
Dilemmas all round!Slowly working towards earning enough money (through various ventures) to live unworriedly, treat my family and sleep under a lovely roof. x0 -
Hi chaps and chapesses I'm going a bit off subject here but I just noticed a job on the jobcentre plus website that's no good for me but might suit somone reading the thread.
Its working from home for NHS, calling people to confirm appontments. 6-12 hours per week between 6pm and 8pm and call costs are covered by employer.
The reference number is IRV/29877. HTH someone.Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can

Thats awful! Just goes to show how important it is that our MS reports are accurate and fair eh??
I used to work in a bank once and got a half bad mystery shop. I can't remember what was bad about it, probably because I hadn't asked if they want a mortgage for the hundreth time that day!!
I got hoiked into the managers office and had a grilling from both the area and branch manager. It was horrible!!:eek:0 -

Thats quite bad that people are treated in that way just over an MS opinion. But then again, it depends what was made about the report.
I have been to some places before (retail) and whilst talking to the sales person, the colleagues are either standing around with hands in their pockets making no pro-active attempt to serve anyone or they are standing around having a social gathering.
One time, I was in a phone shop and overheard a loud conversation that the other staff were having. They were complaining loudly about the pay structure and the commissions that they had missed out on that month....... I had no qualms what so ever about letting the MS company know exactly what my impressions were!
So it all comes down to what exactly was wrong during the whole experience - but certainly, if it was a very trivial thing you shouldnt be subject to threats of dismissal etc0 -

I think I do recall it being fair...as much as I hate to say it!Suffice to say, I didn't like my job there and as much as I tried not to let it come across to the customers, somedays it probably did! The manager bit wasn't so bad either...but when everyone you work with gets told that it was you that knocked a fair chunk of the branch bonus...it's not fun!! lol
