    Guys and glas,

With Retail eyes when you enter your expenses, do you claim the full amoutn available, or the recipt amound.

    I'm confused

I checked this with RE once and was told to enter the receipt amount, on the understanding that you will always only be refunded up to the maximum reimbursement and no more. HTH

Has anyone done a RE betting shop today and found the bet they were told to place has been replaced with an Irish version, most of the questionnaire is completely irrelvant.

There are two games running. However, the one RE tell you to play is drawn before the Irish one. There seems to be an issue that RE tell you to enter the next day's draw, but some of the shops say you can't do this until the next day so advise you to come back then.

I have submitted reports saying this (after checking with RE) and still got paid. They said other shoppers had reported the same thing, and it was very useful feedback for the client. Obviously I only got the fee, no reimbursement but that was because I didn't spend anything.

Last weekend one of the shops said "You've missed that game but why not play the Irish one instead as that's not been drawn yet. It's very similar." I asked if I could play the other game for tomorrow's draw but they said no, I had to go back the next day to do that. So I went ahead and played the Irish game, and submitted my report on that basis.

Still waiting to see if I get paid but I hope I do!

Just finished my MS for TNS for a nightclub - good lord what an idiot - the enhanced fee was sooo not worth the hassle of being in Liverpool City centre at midnight the weekend after payday! SOBER! Drunken idiots

Can I ask, how did they react when you asked for a receipt in the club?

I don't have a problem with asking for receipts in burger places etc - I do this often anyway as I can sometimes claim my lunch on expenses from work (if I'm away from the office, or having to do an overnight stay somewhere).

But surely nobody in a nightclub asks for a receipt for a drink? Especially just for one drink?

On the four occasions that I have been told I can't enter the next day's draw I have insisted that my friends/colleagues have done so. In each case a phone call has been made and they have corrected themselves and accepted the bet.

It is also common to confuse the 49 game with the Irish lottery. When that has happened I just say "no I play the Irish one already this is the 49 win a million my friends are doing it." again they check and then get the correct paperwork out.

A relative used to work in a nightclub and he said people ask for receipts all the time. So many people entertain clients and it's all on expenses. He told me that they were frequently asked to inflate bills and receipts for a 50% share.

Thanks Bob! Useful tip which I will remember. I can see why the client has asked for this game to be mystery shopped - it seems us mystery shoppers know more about it than the staff in many of the shops.

I would hazard a guess that they don't get many people asking about these games, hence why they don't seem to know a great deal about them.

In any case I am £30 up from winnings for doing these shops. So that's a bonus

Thanks, I'll give them a go. Don't think we'd get away with claiming over inflated expenses though - only the MPs are allowed to do that!
