I just had a few questions regarding tax etc
Fun.
Say, for example, that I had three jobs to do in my city centre. It is a £1.70 bus ride there and back. Do I say for the one job that it has cost me £3.40 and nothing for the rest? Or do I put it has cost me £3.40 for each job? Or do I split the cost between the three, so put that its cost me £1.13 for each job?
If it's on a bus, and you're claiming the expense back, I don't see what is stopping them adsking for the receipt (i.e the bus ticket) so I'd say no, you should only claim the bus tickets that you've actually bought.
In a similar vein, I had been doing shops in my boyfriends town when I visited him at £7.05 for a return ticket. Can I claim that as an expense or would they tell me I was having a laugh as obviously I would have been going there anyway?
Nope, claim it. They don't know that your boyfriend lives there do they...
What scotsbob said i correct and is good advice. If you're driving there is no proof that you've done the miles claimed. Using public transport, there is proof - the tickets. Highly unlikely they'd ask for £1.70 bus tickets, but not worth the risk IMO, not for me at least ;-)0 -
Thanks very much guys, really helpful responses, its all a lot clearer to me now!! Damn me not being able to drive!I take it you don't have any other income that is going to take you over the tax allowance then?
I'm a student, and the only other work ive done since the beginning of the tax year is casual stocktaking which ive only earned about £150 from so far. I also keep seeing lovely things at car boots but finding that when I get home they dont fit me or I just dont like them as much in the bright lights of my front room so I have to get rid of them on Ebay and happen to be selling them for more than I paid. Hmm.
However, I dont anticipate that I'll be earning over the threshold but you never know :cool:I mean look what the MPs get up to, so do you really think anyone is bothered how much petrol you used to buy a burger?????
LOL!! That's very true, I'd like to think I'm morally better than the MPs so I think I'll be sticking to just the one bus ticket and leave off the moat cleaning/houses for my ducks/pornos.
Massive thanks again scotsbob, josie, mharzuk and ukmonkeyReclaiming for family and friends. Won 4/13 so farHSBC CC - £263.25, Halifax CC - £179.45, HFC PPI - £589.00, HSBC PPI - £498.86, Lloyds PPI 1 - £4000 -

Yes, I can only see the new one
Seems to be postcode based, which in some ways is an improvement on the old one (especially misrecorded ones), but it would be nice to be able to choose multiple, and then save them

Try searching under Doncaster and/or Hull and/or Lincoln
This is where the problem will be, in the big postcode areas like YO (massive massive area), DN (huge area again)0
