The Mystery Shopping thread - IX

I'm not sure I completely understand what this "The Office" forum is exactly or how it benefits people, but surely this policy also excludes people who are genuinely interested in contributing but can't afford "not free" email addresses (sorry - don't know the proper word for this!).
For example - those who are MS'ing due to a lack of other money to try and increase their income ... I imagine there are quite a few of us on here.

I don't need to talk about all my 'serious' jobs and and all the 'serious' aspects of MS'ing, but that doesn't make me any less serious'about the work that I'm doing.
And who is it to judge how serious someone is about the work they do based on which forums they belong to and the banter they choose to/not to engage in there within?
I'm not saying people who post here aren't serious about mystery shopping - I for one most certainly am. I'm saying I think people come here rather than to other forums because they don't want to always discuss in a serious manner as on other forums. I think people here want to chat about the day they've had, and discuss their ill children with swine flu. I'm referring to the way the discussion is conducted, not the way people go about doing the work. This forum has a relaxed atmosphere which we'd lose if we started regimenting everything into sections and telling everybody off for mentioning things which aren't strictly about work.absolutelynomoney wrote: »I'm not sure I completely understand what this "The Office" forum is exactly or how it benefits people, but surely this policy also excludes people who are genuinely interested in contributing but can't afford "not free" email addresses (sorry - don't know the proper word for this!).

I've always thought that. I know lots and lots of people whose only address is a webmail service.Dan

Does anyone know how long it takes for ESA to allocate you an assignment. I've just applied for my first two jobs and was wondering when I'll hear back.
Thanks
I've just applied for my first ESA jobs too! I was wondering the same thing too, as if it's anything like Bare it'll be a nightmare! Were you not given an email addy with your Internet Provider?
Nope. I don't even know who my internet provider is as I share a flat and the internet was set up long before I got here. I use gmail.I'm not saying people who post here aren't serious about mystery shopping - I for one most certainly am. Ah, I see - I think we're saying the same thing!
Here it's like a community rather than strictly business like (which is the impression I get from peoples' talk about The Office), which is what I like about it - everyone gets involved.Slowly working towards earning enough money (through various ventures) to live unworriedly, treat my family and sleep under a lovely roof. x0 -
The Office is business like in the top half of the forum but we have the chat threads too which are very friendly
Company reps post work in the top half and know exactly where to post.
We do the normal everyday things that MSE members do its just seperate threads thats allIts very much a community and its been around for a few years now.

Both the Office and MSUK are dedicated to Mysteryshopping and as such attract the REP's who actually work for GAP, RE etc.
These people can give insight and get feedback on the sometimes odd world of MSing. There can be more of a personal touch with the Reps who can sort out problem quickly if need be.
It can also lead to some out of this world MS opportunities that you will never see on here.
It's not ALL serious stuff in fact the most popular threads are the "Gossip" TV, Kids etc.
(Well most of the members are women )
The BIG difference is that both are well organised (FAQ's, MS Companies threads) and WELL MODERATED.
If anyone gets out of hand they can be fairly "told off" and any breeches of MS rules can be controlled.
Information can be easily found in various separate sections.
IMHO
This forum is too chatty and irrelevant most of the times and difficult to find good info.
If you notice most of the stalwarts have actually left-I only stay around for the entertainment value0 -

Just checked RE and there is over 100 jobs for a certain Pharmacy in the Glasgow area....I got all excited rubbing my grubby little mitts together and seeing $ until I read the briefing notes....you have to have a prescription to do these??
How frequently does the average person get a prescription?? Gutted as one of them is a stone throw from my house
But in case any of you do have prescriptions go check it outBerry Delight0
