Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Fri 19th JUneThis is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone is welcome, so please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have screens, or slow internet connections, so please DON'T post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning. Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!
Morning.
It's one of those mornings... The annual competition against Trumpton. My brother is their captain, so it's always good rivalry. Although he is hopping mad as they called him in to work today! So the team will have to do without him.
Court went well, guilty, so sentencing in a few weeks. Another victory for me
Well, need to go get my tackle ready and loaded... Cheers

Good morning:hello:
Another sunny day today:j. BBQ at work this evening so it's going to be a long day but a good one. OS-wise - OH will have leftover casserole for dinner tonight, that's probably about it for today.
N9eav - good luck with the competition
Hester - loved the post yesterday :rotfl: that's really good news (not the black eye, the news about your OH)!
Have a good day everyone, (((hugs))) to those in need.

Morning everyone
Had to cut short our holsDS decided a few days after being seen at A & E that he was going to start being sick so in the end we thought it was best to dash home as he wanted to go and it was easier to look after him there. So I feel awful with the same cold and DD has it coming too.....
On the plus side though its my 5th wedding anniversary today. Rather than go out and battle with Friday night crowds me and H are going to eat in. Cajun chicken I think so if I have time today I will have another go at making some tortillas.
Holiday washing nearly up to date, just a huge pile of ironing to get through  My veggies seem to have doubled in size whilst we were away but what I thought was a courgette doesn't seem to have developed into anything
Weather beautiful at the moment. Hope is lasts - perhaps we could get out and about for a picnic today.
N9eav - good luck with the fishing comp. Hope you win
Have a good day all, OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Ok, get one of the kids paint brushes, make sure its dry, and start off with one flower, push the paint brush into the open flower head and wriggle about a bit, then move onto the next flower of the same breed of plant, ie from corgette to corgette, not from corgette to tomato, bees would normaly do this for you, but it does not hurt to give them a hand0 -
Morning All :hello:
Bitsy- sorry to hear about your holiday & sick kids but hope you have a lovely meal
Good Luck with the fishing N9eav
Lovely day again. Am going to ignore my massive amount of paperwork and clean the house from top to bottom with OH today. We are also having a move around in the playroom/ironing room as we are getting rid of a PC no-one uses anymore. At long last will be able to clean the window in there - I hate cleaning windows but love how it looks after. Vinegar and stardrops at the ready.
We will also mow and tidy the garden so we can have a relaxing weekend although OH is doing another boot sale sun - this will def be the last one.
Thinking salmon with new pots and garlic butter for dinner, fishfingers for DS.
Have a great Friday :j

my brother has decided that he is coming to stay on Sunday... so that should be fun. i offered him a place to crash one weekend in 3 as he was working away, and now he has a job 30 minutes away... hey ho, it should be an experiance. (he is great, but i'm really difficult to live with.)
hugs to all, and good luck with the fishing....
i'm excited about the corgette idea, as mine seem to have really shot up recently.
Bitsy - sorry you ended up dashing home, hope you both feel better soon.
