Trying to end a listing - no longer for sale

Hi
I had an item for sale on a 1 day listing - its no longer for sale, so I removed 4 bids - with an explanation.
Tried to then End the Listing Early - but it ebay wont let me because there are 11 hours left!
How do I stop people from bidding - because people keep bidding - if they win, I wont have anything to send!
And I'll incur Sellers fees!
Man - why is ebay so inflexible sometimes!

Also - obviously this item is not available for sale - do I contact ebay, or just wait for it to end - and then say to the buyer - sorry mate, no can do?
Do I refund them?
Seems bizzare - I havent sold it offline to avoid fees or anything.0 -
OMG! Its nearly 2am - and Ive had 4 more bids from different bidders.
Any solution for this as I cant keep up with cancelling bids / giving explanations / and then doing the same again!0 -
Change the listing to say they're bidding on a snotty tissue instead? At least it will put people off!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
You can't close the item as ebay don't expect you to be selling this item elsewhere. If it has sold and the possibility of snipe bids on a popular item (as this appears to be) is high then you will have a valid winning bidder and FVFs to pay.
For highly popular items it is really best to stick to one venue only so you don't face this problem.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. BAsically they were sporting event tickets - and after an aexpected result, there is no need to sell - we are goig to the event after all, so we havent resold or trying to resell elsewhere.0 -
you won't be able to amend the details as you have stated you have less then 12 hrs to go -are these different tickets to the ones you refer to in your other thread?0

There is also a third thread about tickets as well.
If you are touting tickets do make sure you are properly registered as a trader both with ebay and HMRC.
Actually, make that 4 seperate threads about problems with tickets, two lots now that you liste don ebay and couldn't supply at auction end.
Selling tickets professionally is a hard market as trust is everything, if you start to get any negs for these problems it may affect your end prices so you need to be very careful not to list more tickets in future that you cannot supply, for whatever reason.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. ...Man - why is ebay so inflexible sometimes!
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/end_early.html...We strongly discourage sellers to end listings early because it undermines the trust buyers have in the eBay platform. eBay buyers are told that their bids are binding. Equally, buyers expect the auctions they bid on to conclude successfully..."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Hi Guys.
Firstly, I am not touting. Tickets were bought for an event 12 months ago. Dozens of tickets however, many people let us down and changed their plans so we were left with tkts which we tried desperately to get rid off - at BELOW face value
So no, I am not a tout - just someone lumbered with tickets for games - which are perfectly legal to sell.
If I was a tout, Id do a better job than I have to date.0
