Trying to end a listing - no longer for sale

These tickets were listed to get rid of - again, at way below face value.
Anyone following cricket will have seen a huge upset last night - suddenly everyone wants these tickets - I was offered £400 for the paur, but Ive decided to go with my dad.
Anyway, spent the last 10 mins cancelling bids which went to £390 - but I couldnt keep up, and the item has closed for about £250.
I'm not a tout. Just a sucker who trusted too many people to go to games which they decided not to and I ended up with all the tickets to sell.
I'm not a tout because these tickets are like gold dust and I dont want to sell.
Apologies if it appears that way - but even in the other threads, I confirm that no one wanted them - and I had to send them back to the issuers!
And in one case, I isold them BELOW face value and Royal Mail delivered late.
So no, I am not a tout.0 -
Selling tickets professionally is a hard market as trust is everything, if you start to get any negs for these problems it may affect your end prices so you need to be very careful not to list more tickets in future that you cannot supply, for whatever reason.
Good advice - but I will simply not buy tickets for friends & family in future
Just myself!0 -

What were these tickets for that have a face value of £400, £390 or even £250?
The starting price of an auction listing really is irrelevant. If you were happy to sell at or below face value, you would have listed these popular tickets as a BIN.
http://wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=ticket%20tout"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I see I am fighting a losing battle here.
End result. We bought tickets totalling £480 last year. Have used as many as we can; sold some for below face -value; returned the remainder to the organisers; and the 2 that were left we decided to keep - albeit after putting them up for auction.
So end result - made a loss. Hardly touting!0 -
So all 4 lots of tickets then covered by your 4 individual threads were the same tickets, or different lots of tickets for the same event?
If the latter, why not just offer more batches of tickets to the same event to the underbidders?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. No Soolin, they were different.
1st thread - Initial auction they went unsold (listed below face-value) - so returned to Ticket Office for refund
2nd thread - Diff tkts for diff game sent out - but Royal Mail failed to deliver on their guaranteed service! Again, sold for below face-value
3rd Thread The buyer simply refused to contact me for the different tickets - so I got rid of them through a mutual friend at exactly face value, despite being offered a lot more on ebay!
4th thread - This thread. Basically, I listed the tkts for a game I could attend at below face-value, added a BIN - but got no interest at all. SO I removed the BIN. Then last night there was a shock in the semi-finals of the match, and the underdog won! (My team) - so all of a sudden I want to go to the game as does my father! But so did lots of ebayers and my auction went into overdrive!!!
So to be accused for being a tout is a bit hurtful as to date I have only made a loss on the surplus tickets that I had bought for friends & family.
I know I can get my fees back for the buyer who refused to pay for tickets [Thread 3]
I have explained to the buyer the situation [Thread 4] that the tickets are no longer for sale - still awaiting a reply, but I asked him NOT to send a payment - and to date he hasnt soI just want to know what the process is to reclaim any final selling fees for these.
Appreciate your replies Soolin0 -
Just in case any of them were Ashes tickets I would be careful about reselling them:
