Very proud of this as we have been saving for maternity leave (fund is currently £4800 planning to take the year off so trying to over save rather than under save).
Have started maternity leave and am thoroughly enjoying being off. Being very indulgent and putting my feet up and reading lots as I know I won't have the time later.
Hi there
Just to let you know that I have subscribed to your diary and am cheering you on from lurkdom as my mortgage is almost the same as yours! I would say there is a difference of about £2 in it! I bet my house is substantially smaller though!
Knowing there is someone else out there in the same boat is very, very motivating so I shall be watching with interest and wishing you the best of luck! And well done with the saving for maternity leave - that is very organised!!!

Haven't updated for a while as my lovely daughter decided to make an early appearance in the world. Liking family life whilst my husband is also at home, not so sure how it will go when he returns to work! In other words we are both equally clueless and taking support in that fact. Also a week after DD was born, a family member got a kidney transplant so it has been hectic, emotional and very, very exhausting here. Can only say thank you to the family who gave the gift of the organ for transplantation and feel for their situation.
Budget has gone to pot as suddenly discovered we needed lots of other stuff for the baby that we hadn't even considered so there will be no over payment this month on the mortgage and also my work seems to have messed up my maternity pay so will try to sort that out tomorrow. The joys!!!

Just wanted to say congratulations on your new bundle of joy, its hard work, but sooo worth it. I'm sure you will be fine when OH goes back to work, my DH had two weeks off work when we had twins ( and a toddler) , I was terrified! but to be honest I found my own routine very quickly and I'm sure you will too, best of luckMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Congratulations. My 1st tipped my world on end. I found it a lot easier the 2nd time. I know totally what you mean about lots of extra expenses, and you have to let it settle down and it all will come right again. Enjoy your little one while she is little.:beer:0
