Hi all,
Stan Baller, it has been mentioned earlier on this thread that you need to refresh your browser when the countdown hits zero. I got a room so i promise it isn't a hoax. I'm very chuffed as i need somewhere to stay because i'm coming down from Scotland for a flying visit to spend an hour on the 4th plinth in trafalagar square as part of Antony Gormley's latset piece of art (open's Monday if you Londoners want to go see it)
Sorry we couldn't all win, better luck next time.0 -
Taken from their website
Message from David Taylor – General Manager
All 1000 rooms sold out in 10 minutes with a staggering 79,489 people trying to book in the first 5 minutes alone.
All of our £1 rooms sold within 4 minutes and the £29 rooms were sold out within 10 minutes. Many thanks to our technology partners at Travelclick who have worked extremely hard to cope with the huge volume of customers trying to book this promotion.0 -
Quick question:
Do existing customers have an advantage over new customers?
As far as I can see existing customers only have to put in the last four numbers of their CC and their email address. New customers have to fill in a lot of details, which of course takes longer and means they have less chance of getting a £1 room :rolleyes:0 -

Either this is a Hoax or Nobody explained this properly. Went to the homepage and tried to book and there were no £1 or £29 bookings. I do note the person above claims there is a countdown on the homepage and I assume there is a link or something pops up for us to click on, but that wasn't explained or there is no picture of that where it tells u about the £1 deal. If this is true, this woulkd of been the best tips for us to know unless people were to greedy to share or the promotion is a Hoxton Hoax.
I'm not sure you're going to endear yourself to the posters on here with your first post Stan Baller. This promotion happens every three months, and it's always a mad scramble for rooms. Had you searched for previous posts, I'm sure all of the tips for getting a room have been posted somewhere. It's not a case of being greedy, although it is every man for himself between 1200 and 1210 lol. Nearly 80,000 people fighting for 1,000 rooms shows how hard it can be to get one.0 -

There is a bit of an advantage, although existing customers still have to enter all their credit card information (card number / expiry date / card holders name). I've never managed to get a room but this time bagged one for £29.00 and I'm mindful that now they have my name address and telephone number in their booking system I might stand more of a chance of getting a £1.00 room next time.
One tip is to have all the necessary info they require pre-typed out in Word, or Notepad and then copy and paste it into the relevant fields - speeds things up a little.0 -

Did you use the HTML link? If so, this doesn't work. You have to use the standard Hoxton Hotel flash site.0 -
I got a £1 room, my oh booked it for me whilst i was at work. It was for me and my Mum to do some London stuff, Is it true i wouldn't be able to swap days with another mser because my Oh cc is registered??
I am stil happy with the room and can still go have a great time with oh.
Just wondered??
Was so excited to get a room as last time my cc broke.
My oh is a star0 -
I've managed to get rooms for both £1 and £29 the last three times they've run this, including a Friday night for £29 and Saturday for £1 this time!
Some tips for people.
Go to the site early, it has a flash based link that counts down to the booking links being available. Refresh once it hits a couple of seconds left.
Before the countdown finishes have your CC number copied into your clip board.
If you've booked before, make sure you have the email address and last four digits of your card (the one you used before) handy, as this makes it much easier to fill in all the details (name address etc.)
Have a specific date in mind, and get ready to go straight there. Be aware that weekends go straight away, so if you've got a special occasion or going to see a show mid week, try that for your £1 room, and think of a weekend to book at £29.
When the links become available open both links £1 and £29 in two separate windows.
Choose your date, remember to fill in all the details (as any missing info means you have to start again, and undoubtedly loose your room) and paste your CC number in from the clip board.
Remember to click through terms and conditions too, and only when you receive confirmation has the booking been successful.
You can only book one £1 per person, but that doesn't stop you from booking one night at £1 and one night at £29.
If there are two of you staying you can also book one night in your name and one night in the other name, getting two nights for £2, although this is hard to do especially for a weekend.
If you want to get a Friday-Saturday night stay, book the Saturday immediately for £1, and the Friday for £29 in the other window you have opened.
I stay at the Hoxton a lot with work, and have to say it's a great hotel, and even their standard rates are not bad if you book early enough.
Congrats to those of you who got rooms next time, to the rest of you, sign up to their mailing list and they will send you an email reminder a few days, and the day before.
Next £1 room sale is in October.
Good Luck!
