Trapped in Vodafone price plan
I think this is likely all my own fault but if anyone can offer some tips, I'd be very grateful, cos I'm really peed off about Vodafone.
I changed my phone about 6 weeks ago - after much to-ing and fro-ing, I was offered a "once in a lifetime, buy this now or it'll be gone forever" deal for a new Nokia N70 for £130. It was more than I wanted to spend but they promised my price plan would be free for 3 months so that would bring the phone cost down to about £37. Nice. I was trying to bring my bill down so I was advised on a new price plan with 125 minutes 'stop the clock' and a bundle of 100 texts a month for £6.
It all sounded great and I love the phone but I've just seen my first bill. Despite my free deal, I'm being charged £48 for the month. The calls price plan is more than I need and the text plan is nowhere near enough (I didn't know at the time that web browsing comes out of texts... I never noticed any charges in my old plan) but I'm stuck with it apparently. I can't change my price plan for 9 months (I'd like to reduce the plan by £5 a month) and I can't alter the text deal for another 2 months. I'm on an 18 month contract.
I feel like such a fool. I know they were all my own calls and texts but I didn't know how stuck I'd be. I thought there'd be little to no charges for 3 months!! If I'd opted for a superduper text package from the start I'd have got that FREE. I spoke to the customer service assistant and her manager but they were adamant they couldn't change it.
Maybe this is all my own fault and maybe nobody can help but I know if anyone can then the MSE fans can. At least I've had a chance to vent my anger. I think I need to go for a lie down or a camomile tea now ;-)
End of rant.
Thank you.

A bit annoying - they can be quite convincing when they are trying to sell you a price plan and don't give you a chance to think!
Can you not add on another text bundle for £6 more. This should reduce the £48 bill next month.
Not sure what else to suggest. (sorry

Now that is a good idea... I'll think about that one. Thank you!0
