Orange to O2 -Painless?

Hi
I have been with Orange BB at 17 gbp per month, but see that as an O2 subscriber I can get unlimited BB for only 7.32 pm !!!!!
[We had a terrible time changing arrangements on my son's Orange BB and it ended up with his landline being left in limbo so that BT couldn't pick it up.]
Anyway has anyone made the Orange>O2 switch and was it easy (I have a BT landline not Orange?
Or has anyone had Orange match the O2 price?
TIA
Vigman

It's better than that. Orange are obligated to give you a MAC within 5 days. o2 let you order home broadband even before you get the MAC. Once they have the MAC it should take between 5-10 working days to move you.
At the moment you can get £50 Quidco AND a free o2 PAYG mobile broadband dongle (usually £30, but can be got for net cost of c£5 for 1month usage independently so not a big deal) too! See my other postings for a link to my o2/Be broadband packages/features/costs.0 -

So is there any break in service swapping Orange>O2 or is it seamless??
Thanks

Forgot to say, it was Orange who went on billing my son long after he left.
I'll want Orange to bill me for my mobile but not broadband if I leave so can't just stop the Direct Debit!

Thanks...Orange won't lower my current BB price so O2 looks like the winner!

I join O2 from Ukonline just recently and it was seemless. Rang Ukonline, got mac code by email straight after the call ended. Signed up online for O2, was sent text and emails every step of the way until my service was connected.
On the day of connection, I lost my connection for about 3 hours (a bit longer than I would have liked, but hey ho). Since being connected for a week, my speed has increased and I have absolutely no complaints.
Orange do seem to be doing their best to encourage people to leave them Broadband wise, with price hikes and poor usage limits. They were never the same after they went from Wanadoo to Orange.
Only thing with O2 is make sure you can get LLU on your exchange as there are numerous problems reported with their Home Access service.
Do a search for your exchange on the sam know site here to see if your exchange is LLU enabled for O2

Here's a direct link to my o2/Be features/costs/comparison document as even I found it almost impossible to find via my other postings and the way they are/aren't linked here.

If LLU is not enabled for O2 at your exchange...what services can you/can't you get?
I'm getting Orange ADSL on a non-LLU exchange so I imagine this would be the same for O2?
I want to keep my BT line rental and phone service.
TIA

PLan to switch from Orange Home Max package to O2 BB. Here's my plan, can someone please tell me if it makes sense!
- Get O2 mobile phone number by switching my 30 day T-mobile contract to 30 day O2 contract (saving £5pm plus possibly Quidco cashback).
- Call Orange and ask for MAC code and to cancel contract (hoping no penalty if within 30 days of letter detailing price rise) Saving £32.50pm
- Call BT and get line rental (cost £11.25)
- Get O2 BB package with discount for customers (cost £7.34) - Possible Quidco cashback
So would be saving almost £20 a month, with possible cashback of over £90.
Am I right?? Will this work??
Thanks
