How to get your MAC code easily / anybody help me with complaints procedure?

Hi, first of all sorry about formatting but it won't let me put spaces or new paragraphs in this post. I can't guarantee that you'll definitely get your mac code easily, but the first time I phoned tiscali for my mac code, they hung up on me. I'd been prepared for this, so I phoned back and said if they ar**d me around again, I would record the phone call to my MP3 player and would email the recording to Ofcom. After that, my code was emailed to me within about 20 mins. The problem I have now is that tiscali are continuing to bill me, even though sky migrated me in March this year. To stop them billing me, Tiscali want me to 1) phone them up to tell them I've cancelled [i.e. line their pockets further by spending thirty minutes on the line after which they will hang up on me and then I'll have to do it all over again], and 2) send them confirmation by sending a invoice from sky I've refused to do either of these because Tiscali knows very well that they have not provided me with broadband since March as 1) tiscali provided a use-by MAC code, which they can obviously tell has been used or not 2) I sent them 2, and tomorrow it will be 3, letters, via recorded delivery, to confirm I'm with Sky and that I want my final bill 3) Sky migrated me and so there were interactions between tiscali and sky where sky told them I'm migrating to Sky 4) Every isp in the land monitors the usage of each household they supply, to make sure they're not exceeding download limits, so they know damn well that they're not supplying me with braodband. I've contacted Ofcom, who do nothing at all except lodge your complaint. I'm just about to write to the Internet Service Providers Association, but if they're no good, I don't know where to go from there. Has anybody has similar trouble? Where can I go next?

Just telephone them... we recommend on here that once you have succssfully migrated that you should telephone your old ISP to make sure your account is fully closed and that they will not bill you any further. They can have ways to check, but much faster to do this over the phone rather than wait for them to deal with a mountain of letters...0

Asking for a mac is not the same as cancelling or giving notice. It is the user's responsibility to cancel...not the new ISP's (which I think has been mentioned repeatedly...and is in the T+Cs of every ISP ).
The easy way to get a new paragraph is to use the return key.
Look.
It works

Ok, i'll relent and phone them. I didn't know that bit about it's my responsibility and sorry if it's been mentioned repeatedly - I generally just dip in and out of these forums and I haven't really been a regular. I honestly was - and am now - pressing the return key but every time I preview, it has moved all the text together again, I don't know why. Thanks very much for your advice - that'll teach me to read the T&Cs.0
