Not yet, got a friend coming over to help, who has a couple of ideas, and will do this then. I'm not super confident going into the computers 'innards', I tend to use it for internet & email etc, and worried that I might do some irreversible damage if I 'fiddle about'

if you follow alienriks advice revouninstaller will remove all traces of the registry entries aswell, safely, so you wont need to run regedit and manually go into the innards.

andy2004: good call mate. Im oldschool and prefer to get it done the old fashioned way!!

In my opinion, mcafee is a non starter. Dont like it and never will because once it's installed it doesnt like to let go!! (in my experience anyway).
