Limescale

Options
Hi,

I have a shower enclosure and its a couple of years old. Unfortuately i dont think it had glass protection put on it when it was installed so living in a hard water area the glass now looks like it has a water affect on it.

I have tried many household products for limescale but nothing seems to be clearing it.... does anyone have any suggestions please??

Thanks

Chants

hi try using hydrocloric acid it always works for me it even works in your toilet under the water line where that dirrty looking brown marks hang about not skidd marks lol it is also usefull for cleaning decking and patios just keep it away from the grass
it usually comes in 5 litre tubs and is known as a concreate/rust and limescale remover bnq may sell it for around a tenner
    it is really good
    hope this helps you out

if you cant getit from bnq try local builders merchent or just search online for hydrocloric acin concreate remover
just one warning do try a sample piece first and try not to get it on chrome as some chrome finishings do tarnish but other than that u will have a lovely clean shower
  • yayaya I am so excited don't worry i think i'll test it first and then go from there ...do think the partner would be too impressed about replacing a whole shower :)

Now to solve the rest of my problems :) x

Have you tried vinegar? Only I find this a wonderful limescale remover.

Once you've got your shower glass clean, buy yourself one of the window wiper thingies that people use on car windscreens & wipe your shower over with it each time you use it. You'll never have scale build up again if you do this.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • oh how does the vinegar work??? Is this like fish and chip vinegar or white vinegar???

Do i just put it on neat to a cloth?
