I agree, cannot believe such an established company can work in such a disgraceful manner.
Back in March we made a call to the centre, as the currrent account has a £17 charge, we do not need this type of account as its waste of money, the girl agreed to change it to a free account and backdate it to the beginning of the year.
April came and went, May came and went, nothing happened, so i called them and was passed to the local branch, who tell me there is no record on our request, and they are not willing to remove the charges back from the start of the year, so some cretin has bascially not done their job properly despite telling us they would help us, its just beyond words, I am not leaving it at this and will go down there and speak to the highest status person i can, i know for a fact the manager is useless!
Looking through statements, although i have requested a list, the charges are about £400 tops, i dont know if its worth doing the letter thing or if i am better to try and sort this in the meeting?0 -

I agree with all of the above. Iv claimed against Nationwide and Abbey now and its been easy compared to this. Lloyds are b*stards when it comes to Hardship claims. Iv had letters lost, fobbed off, phone put down on me, sent off two different complaint letters just on the way they have treated me etc. Its disgusting, im currently on my first letter, "we are looking into your complaint" Fingers crossed for everyone!!Thinking it over...:o0

Anyone else has experince with Lloyds?
My experience with Lloyds has been somewhat frustrating but with a successful outcome, whilst everyones financial hardship is different, I didn't have a pot to p*ss in and was also homeless due to a torrential flood from a storm here in Cornwall.
Lloyds were made aware of my dire situation, along with being in receipt of a means tested benefit(Proof sent of everything) all debts, a very important income and expenditure and still had the cheek to write back waffling on and stating that while my claim was for financial hardship they could not see that my account had been compromised by me claiming to be skint, after blowing a fuse I called Andover and discussed this with a lady who was lovely and she said she could see I was in hardship and agreed to log in onto my account notes but not send it in writing, I left it a few days and re-wrote my letter stating I was successful in my hardship claim(read account notes) and that I requested my charges back, I stated a few things in the waiver IE their charges made up ALL of my overdraft and again I got a waffle letter back, I immediately sent a "speedy settlement" letter stating I would accept an offer of only my charges minus any interest or that I would be proceeding to my local court where upon winning they would be liable for all hcarges, interest and court costs.
I left it a couple of days(everything was copied and sent registered post) and called Andover about to go through everything on the phone for the thousandth time and the guy said they had made me an offer, which went into my account the same day Wey hey!! happy days!!
Just get on top of your game, dont be disheartened, call all the andover numbers a couple of days after sending letters and make sure you copy what you have sent and ALWAYS send registered to the right department,
Once you have had a letter back off them you will see the return address at the top right of their letter, remember to quote the case reference number,
Andover number for financial hardship are 0845 300 0000 and 01264 725214
Hope this helps.Thriftkitten

Received yet another fob off letter, from Lloyds TSB this morning after sending them an updated financial statement.

You need to change the way you argue the case. Firstly, you need to point out how you ended up being unable to pay priority debt arrears. For example, car broke down which was essential for work and so repairs took money out of your budget. This lead to charges and the effect the charges had on being able ot pay your priority debt arrears. You need to have an outcome on financial hardship. If all you want is 100% of the charges then you aren't gonna get much joy. Remember any refund on charges still leaves the rest of them on the table to reclaim. Perhaps the argument of payment to clear priority debt arrears plus suspension of charges to help get your finances back in order to be able to service your priority debts may be one option.Received yet another fob off letter, from Lloyds TSB this morning after sending them an updated financial statement.
