Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Thur 18th JUneThis is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone is welcome, so please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have screens, or slow internet connections, so please DON'T post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning. Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!
Morning..... Sunny start here, bit breezy which could be a bit aggravating for fishing tomorrow. Popped in to ASDA yesterday for some things and then got a call from the OH informing me that I had her car keys in my pocket, so had to rush back home again without anything.
Court today. One of a number of cases recently where people have assualted quite badly people and stated that they did it because they sexually abused them 20/30 years ago when they were children. Seems to be happening more and more...
Garden needs some work badly, but what with rain and other hobbies it has been left....
Nothing much else to report.... Cheers

Good morning
Looks like a lovely day ahead. Got to work yesterday to find there was a power cut so had a crash course in how to start a generator. Was also spared the task of watering the garden as it rained in the evening. Not much OS planned for today - too early to think and haven't had enough caffeine yet.
Have just caught up on on yesterday's thread.
Linz - (((hugs))). Your house is not the problem, your mother's outlook is. I agree with MSD. Hope you feel better about things this morning.
BM has not turned out the best loaf of bread this morning, I think I may have put the wrong amount of water in. Looks like salad instead of sandwiches for lunch today:o.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone
Excitement must have kicked in as woken early, and did get everything done for last night (apart from a pampering bath, but hey oh!)
Only going as far as Junction 19 on the M1 today, so hopefully the breeze stays down your way N9eav as not nice when towing. OS meal prepared and in fridge for when we get there.
LL - I cannot understand why a Mum could be like that, makes me remember what a super Mum & MIL I had, they came to see me (well DS) not the house, and if I was behind when DS was small would just "muck in", do it without any fuss but with a hug. Our DS is realising now how not all parents are as supportive as his and cannot get his head around it.
(((((hugs)))))) to everyone.
DG
Note: Sunnyday notice Netto and Lidl have various soil bags in, didnt really check which, and they could be cheaper than a garden centre.Member #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -

i am quite pleased though as i have bought lunc for the second day in a row, which for me is quite an acheivement...
when i get home i have lots of laundry to look forward to, some ironing, and also the hoovering. i got as far as getting the hoover down the stairs last night, and then collapsed on the sofa... (not so good)
i have no idea what's for tea, probably a jacket spud... (so in fact i do know was just haveg a blonde moment...)
i hope that all are having good days.
