THE NEXT SALES LIST (44PAGE PDF WITH CODES)

I guess that depends on how well off people are ::) Making that assumption is a tad offensive and hints of snobbery, their clothes are generally the most expensive amongst the traditional high street retailers such as M&S, BHS, Littlewoods, Burton, Primark, Top Shop etc.
I think most average folk would consider £35-£40 for a pair of jeans expensive or £30 for a shirt, therefore savings of 50%+ represents a good saving for most folk.
Personally I think their clothes are overpriced and always wait for the sales. If they can afford to sell the clothes at 50%+ discounts then why not reduce them a little during normal trading periods then they may not be left with such a huge stockholding at the end of the year.
stuck up ......
im poor, but my visa's rich lol
next is bloody expensive, its made in the same sweatshops as the traditional high street retailers such as M&S, BHS, Littlewoods, Burton, Primark, Top Shop etc...

But as I said the sales clothes are rarely what they sell normally. My girlfriend used to work in Next and when they shut their stores on Christmas Eve, the staff stay behind, a load of lorry's arrive and they take out their special sale stock while the stuff in store gets taken away until the end of the sale. ie. Man/woman in street gets clothes he/she thinks are Next clothes for a bargain price, while they are actually getting to buy a special range at the price it's worth.0 -
Hmmmm
Until the last year ars my Wife has been in the store for the days preceeding the sales and kept an eye on what they are marking up. This was very much all the normal store goods as she list exactly what she wants and gets them so I think that statement about them swapping the goods is in no way 100% true.0 -
Can anyone do me the honour of converting the list to Word or even send to me as a e-mail attachment? Computer crashed the other week and I cannot seem to open .PDF Files........ >:(0

I think there may be some confusion here between stock in the Next stores and stock from the Next directory. They are ALL Next items but obviously due to the limited size of the stores not all of the stuff in the Next directory is stocked in all of the stores. So yes they may well ship loads of items into the stores the night before the sale...but they're not just random non -Next items, they are genuine Next goods that have been advertised and available to buy at full price in their catalogue and seasonal supplements for several months before.
They're not a lower quality "special range".The things on the sale list have catalogue numbers and page numbers and can be found in the relevant Next Directory or Next directory supplement. The stuff that is temporarily taken away would be either the new season's stock or items that aren't in the sale and they do that to make room for all the stuff that IS in the sale. It's common sense..0 -
I dont doubt in the stores that there is old stock included in the sales, - i know ive come across it, but I have always picked up more than a few bargains and come away very happy - and alot poorer !!
And if you manage to get through on the phone lines within the first couple of hours you can pick up loads of stuff from the latest catalogues at half price. The courier is a regular at my house over the sales cos I always order loads of stuff .
So as far as im concerned, hurrah for the Next Sale!!0 -
Can I just add that Next actually use more stitches in their clothes than say Top Shop or Primark (I found out this as a Textiles student).
I always order from the directory and always get things that are current season sale items, so they do actually put current stock in the sale.
And I also cant afford their stuff full price! ::)
(why bother when you have the sale?)

Totally agree ;D
Last year I got up early and got through on the phones to buy myself some curtains that I'd spotted previously in the Directory onsale at £60 a pair.I got them for £25 a pair and was glad I waited a week or so to see if they'd be in the sale

I know you're only kidding here, but unless you sleep out overnight or fight to get through at dawn on the phone anyhting half decent is gone.
I think Cubegame is right in what he says about the items in the sale. I'm sure there are some exceptions, but any stock that is reasonable and mainstream never makes it to 50% off. An example is a suit jacket that in the undesirabel double breasted sells for 50% off while the single breasted version has say 25% off. Apart from that it's all the dodgy gear (or highly stylised) that no-one really wanted!
I'm sort of Mr Average with a 40R jacket size in a suit and it is IMPOSSIBLE to find any decent suits in a Next sale.
I've just decided to save myself the stress of it all any either by somewhere else or at full price but not as often!! :-/0
