She must have assumed as there was no car seat i had no child. So i can see how it is hard for most car parks to police them.
I'd not be bothered by a letter like that as it was obviously not aimed at you. Specially as the odd miss means the actual selfish people get the consequences.
We didn't go for the removable seat... but the whys and hows of that are a bit off topic.0 -
I was so :mad::mad: the other day I saw a space in the child parking area and I do have a 22mth old with me and in the car but then saw a young boy racer pull in to it anyway the car next to his left so pulled in there and he got out In a tesco uniform! no child at all :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
so as soon as I could I went in to CS desk and told them I do hope he got told off at least0 -

Didn't Safeway use to have stickers you put in the window? Couldn't they do that now? Maybe with an expiry date when your child gets older. You may still get parents parking when they don't have their children but at least it would cut down on it.
Person I know got really angry at someone who was sitting in a car in a child and parent space with no child in. After harassing this poor person she got out the car revealling she was heavily pregant and then her husband came back to the car with their other child in a buggy/car seat 3 in 1 thingy.
It was very funny afterwards although not for the person I know.0 -
Thats a bit selfish isn't it, I take you can walk ? A disabled person may not be able too yet you have just used their space
andSo your one of the selfelsh people stopping geuninely disabled people from parking in their spots. Your also be the one jumping up and down in rage when you get fined for doing it without a blue badge. It is just typical of the me me me and screw everyone else world that we live in.
:rotfl:I knew I would get called selfish.
I have been told by my Tescos to park in the disabled spots when I can't get into the P&C spaces....so no, I won't be jumping up and down in rage anywhere.0 -

Ah but it does, it is very selfish to assume your needs take precedence oversomeone who is disabled. In the near future those spaces will be legallly enforcable, and so you actually wont be able to park there without risking a fine, regardless of what Tesco have are alleged to have told you, (I bet they wouldnt put it in writing!!)0

If the space issue is really the problem, then it is easily resolved. I have yet to see a full supermarket car park,(except perhaps at Xmas) so drive on and find the furthest corner where there are not many cars and park there.
The real issue is the closenesss to the store entrance, not the width of the spaces.
I don't believe I have agreed so totally with something someone has posted in a long time, I have even broken my statement about not replying to your posts.
GF and I park in the far end of the Car park at a Morrison’s so we can finish our shopping and walk to the adjoining retail park for a coffee afterwards. On the way we pass young mums who are walking prams and toddlers without using a car at all  They can manage to walk at least ¼ of a mile from the main road and back again, why can some people not get their toddlers to walk from the other side of a car park? Lack of practice perhaps. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

The legislation says they will be legaly enforceable only with the co-operation and consent of the owner. hopefuly this will be forthcoming in all cases and non co-operators will be named and shamed. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

No. Not alleged. 'Mr Tesco' have told me to park there.
The carpark of my local Tesco is not council owned. My needs, as you put it are that it is safer for me to park nearer the store due to the carparks layout - you can't judge that because you have no idea which store I use (fair enough right?)
Im not selfish to the needs of the disabled, for example if the store was busy I would not park there. But when the P&C spaces are full (and that will include a percentage of childless 'parkers') I park in the next safest option.0
