He's right .... Don't be afraid to try if you have an insulation displacement tool (sometimes wrongly described as a crimping tool) If it doesn't work then pull out the new connections and call someone in.

Just a quick update for anyone that cared, I bought the correct tool from play for £3.95 (inc postage) and managed to do it myself - it wasn't as complicated as it looked, and much better than paying £185 to BT! Scandalous price!!
