if it is still in the catalogue by another one and then take this back without a receipt and get gift vouchers. then after a month or so take the faulty one back with the receipt!
    Just about to give up!

I had a succession of cheap kettles (not bought from Argos but similar price £9.95 I think). Something would go wrong with them after about 9 months - either leaking or just not working). This meant the guarantee period started again so I was almost getting a kettle for life for £9.95. But then I got fed up with cheap kettles and put the refund towards a better, more expensive one!
  • cookworks is shi*e thats why it broke down. With the box(which will have the cat number onit) they will prob replace it with enough fuss kicked

Oh well, was going to pack it up in the box and got startled by a moth!

Dropped it on the floor and it cracked on both sides!! So much for taking it back!!

I had exactly the same experience with more expensive kettles purchased from John Lewis, went 6 or 7 years getting a new replacement kettle every year or so. I came to the conclusion that these new fast boil kettles just don't last very long.

since argos got rid of their sales floor managers and employed 'customer service supervisors'?? (i think theyre still called that??) our supervisor has taught us to not write the date after 'replaced' on the reciept unless the customer starts to make a fuss, because then they cant do that trick and go years with replacements!

surely this makes it easier? argos policy is 12 months on replacements right?

if so, then if you write a date they get 12 months from that date. without a date the customer could claim 12 months from whenever they want - and even write a date on themselves!

well yeah in some cases i suppose the customer could write their own date on if they could match the handwriting up and the person at customer services doesnt notice. but if they dont think to do that, then the theory is, without a date we go by the reciept date

so argos staff are diluting customers rights even in the face of an argos policy giving customers those rights in the first place!!!???? surely not!!!
