Nationwide current account holder here, they never sent me anything, snail or email, about this.
It arrived as a 'change of T&C's' leaflet with one of my statements - looked like one of those advertisement flyers, and could easily have been missed/overlookedas such.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

The OP talks about the use of the card abroad: this encompasses both withdrawals and purchases.
The Nationwide card has to be the best overall card, therefore. Not even the Abbey Zero card can match it for withdrawals, simply because this card does not allow the holder to have a positive balance. I won't elaborate, as there are other threads on this subject.RIP independent MSE.

I think the main issue is that there have been several threads in this very forum talking about the issue. If you think you've found something new, do a quick search to see if its been posted recently. Doesn't take long, the search box is to the top right of every page0

This is the internet. People wanting attention don't bother searching.
'i've found something' even though it's new to them but old news to others. They *must* post to the first forum that will let them do so. Without bothering to see if it is actually news.
People don't search, News to them is 'old' to others. But they must post the fact that they've been fleeced despite being told that they will be 'fleeced.'Conjugating the verb 'to be":

Yes, I've been trying to find out...
Got the NW Visa & Post Office MasterCard.
But when I used the Post Office MasterCard recently, I felt the rates were not as good as Visa's rates, even though I never used them at the same time & the Visa had the 0.86% Visa fee applied (now 1%).
As for the Nationwide not absorbing the charge, I think it was bound to happen with all the people opening accounts to use just for holiday money etc, as NW was paying for free loaders on here & from every holiday article in the newspapers

It is also old news that has been discussed before on several threads

I always find the Mastercard to be slightly more expensive......but the APR is lower - swings & roundabouts
Does your P-O M/C statement actually quote the exchange rates?0
