Reviews:
"A good air con unit with varied features, but would suit a very large room or office. too big for our 22" x 20" bedroom. unless you are going to built this into a wall the pipe looks ugly poking out of a window"
"Excellent value for the money great to have when you need some form of air conditioning. would recommend to anyone."
"it is not made clear that this item has to be fixed to an outside wall for ventilation so it is not portable i was also led to believe that this was also a heater (not so)"Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that who cares? He's a mile away and you've got his shoes.0 -
Do all air con units need venting?
Id be interested in one but dont like the idea of a pipe out of the window as my bed is under the window so a tube would not reach the window?

Yes they would all need venting as they are in effect sucking the heat out of the air & so that heat needs to be got out of the room else it defeats the object. Normally the pipe is quite long, sort of concertinaed, so should reach a window.
We have a large one which we bought to have downstairs in the day & upstairs at night but it is very heavy - needs two of us to move it easily so now it stays upstairs for use a couple of hours before bed. I think it would be better to have two smaller ones as they would be more potable.
We've found the best thing for keeping the house cool is to keep all the windows closed & the curtains or blinds ont he side of the house where the sun is closed. We open all the windows & doors about 8pm when it cools down enough & again early morning before the heat starts up again - and I'm forbidden to cook!!0
