That's a good idea, did you get the recipe from the internet somewhere if you don't mind me asking - might try this out sometime if I can't get to co-op..
Those chocolate cupcakes from Co-op are still looking at me

My mum has a very sweet tooth and works at M&S. So far we've tried the Raspberry and white choc ones (which I hated) the icing is way too sweet and has a slightly sinthetic taste, the Strawberry ones were much better, nicer icing but still really sweet so I struggled to eat a whole one. I found the actual cake quite moist and tasty but very crumbly, Mum scoffed one in the dark on her way to bed one night and actually managed to drop a big chunk of it on the floor without noticing (until the next morning) that's how crumbly they are...lol0

Personally I think the M&S cupcakes are a rip-off, but then I know how to bake a mean cupcake myself and think mine are 1000000 times nicer than anything shop-bought. They're so easy to make and decorate, I could make atleast a dozen for the same amount of money. Still, I guess it's a convenience thing.0

miss_cupcake - I agree - home made cakes are the best! Depending on the cook of course

If you have a recipe which you could recommend I'd really appreciate it? I would like to make cupcakes and chocolate brownies :j
Hope to get a PM with some tips

I don't have recipes to hand I'm afraid. I generally follow Jamie Olivers' recipe for brownies (a quick google search should help you out there) and various different recipes for cupcakes depending on what cake/filling/icing flavour combination I'm going for. My personal favourites are choc cupcakes with peanut butter inside and a dark choc buttercream icing, and lemon/raspberry cupcakes work well too. Have a look on google and you'll find plenty

i had some raspberry ones bought me as a teat-they were gorgeous !0

The M&S cupcakes look gorgeous, but taste distinctly average. It wouldn't be so bad, but because they look so pretty, it's really disappointing when the flavour doesn't match that standard.

Try the big banoffee pie or big sticky toffee pudding instead. Now those do actually taste worth the calories.

Hi Summer google Nigella's snowflake brownies, they are foolproof, don't over cook them just wait till the top cracks up. I always make them when I have guests (or just for me and dil but we have to freeze them or we eat them in a couple of days). The cook at a local tourist attraction first gave me the recipe and there they sell them at £2.10 a slice!!!
Mmmmmmmm think I feel a baking session coming on!!!!Slightly bitter0 -
