Anyone used both (relatively recently)?

If everything else is pretty similar, timing, price etc, which offers the best comfort/service in business class??

Thanks

It's a no brainer - Singapore Airlines all the way. If you like a tipple when flying probably pays to mention that Emirates is a generally a "dry" airline. Although have heard of the odd beer or two being given out to a lucky few!

Since when, or does this apply to certain routes? It was certainly not 'dry' when I flew LHR-DXB-CMB earlier this year

    Tosh.

OP, it really depends on what aircraft you would be on, as the seat/ cabin environment will vary. You can get more specialised advice at www.flyertalk.com.
    Gone ... or have I?

    Dry? Emirates? :rotfl:

Possibly confused with Royal Brunei? Erm, or Saudi Arabian Airlines? Or Yemen Yemenia??

I was once caught up in a posh city boys food fight in Emirates Business Class after they'd been drinking too much champagne!

Anyway, Singapore Airlines is the right answer.

As the above answers regarding Emirates not being dry. I've staggered off at Dubai a few times!
Service is excellent in Emirates Business class although some planes are newer than others with a bit more privacy and comfort. Singapore always get the best write ups but I've never flown with them.

    Kuwait Air is dry iirc.

Apologies for what is clearly incorrect information - was going from a friends experience (having only flown Singapore, Thai and Air NZ longhaul myself). In thinking back now perhaps it was Qatar Airlines..... I stand corrected.

I can't think of many things worse than a dry long haul airline!

Never flown Singapore, but I couldn't fault Emirates. I always fly with them when going to SE Asia. They are very generous with those little bottles of sleeping potion ("Smirnoff", I think they call it!)
