13 year old needs bank account for travel to Australia

I need to organise a bank account for my 13 year old to use in Australia, i'm not sure if this is possible, any suggestions?

Not true for Australia though. HSBC told me before I went this April but I tried anyway and it wouldnt go through, nor DH who also banks with HSBC. We did use them at ATM's ok though
