Hey Sall, smack my legs if Im wrong, but I wonder how most men are with kids (and I say most, I could be wrong and probably am) they dont have that knack that the mother does. No matter whether is 1200BC, 1805, 1945, 1982 or 2009 there is nothing, NOTHING that can ever take away that mother child bond. Ive just spent 1 hour trying to get Harry to sleep (he's just had his injections and is a tad unsettled) and usually I get frustrated and have to leave the room and come back but not this time I stuck with it and didnt get frustrated once, but OH wanted to come in cause she was hearing bangs and crashes from upstairs (I dropped his dummy behind the cot so I picked it up and some things fell on the floor which made Harry worse) OH wanted to come in and said NO, expletive expletive, I will do it let me be. OH thinks that I haven't taken to Harry because he is a lot harder work than Jack and he is and she thinks that I resent him; I don't mind you Ive not been round much so perhaps Im not the best example, but I wanted to settle him my way. I suppose your OH is dealing with it how he does and perhaps, maybe he tried too hard as he didnt have much of a relationship with his Dad and wants to make up but at the same time he can be affected quite easily by any rejection. I wasnt there for my first son from a previous life my Father and I didnt have the closest relationships when I was growing up and now with Harry and Jack I want to make sure I am there and I so do not want to be like my Dad was with me. But sometimes I see myself being like my Dad and rather than do something about it I suppose I sulk a little. DId that make any sense. i can count just don't know my alphabet.....;)
Actually I am pretty glad my clients couldn't see me today using my fingers to count!:o
Oh I do that all the time, for the past 11 years I've always worked at places where the accounting year is the same as the calendar year, where I am now it's the same as the tax year, when someone says month 1 - I always have count on my fingers to see what actual month it is :rotfl::rotfl:Don't Take Life too Seriously - Nobody gets out alive :rotfl:0 -
Oh further to my last I think Ive missed something about your OH, sorry if I missed the point there. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

scaredy_cat wrote: »right - i have a conumdrum.
new blokey - we have met up 5 times, all signals from him is that he likes, etc, etc,
we last went out on 7th jun, last weekend he was away with friends, i spoke to him breifly on sat night. he sadi he'd call when he got in on sunday. sunday no call - i tried to call him got his answer service. he sends me a text just after 10pm, he'd just got in and was v tired, and was going to bed (by, he gets up at 6am for his job) also said he'd call me monday. Monday no call - i call his mobile - switched off cos it goes to voice mail so i send him a txt was he watching the footie, hope all was ok....
tues, no call from him, i don't call or txt as i don't want to seem like i'm harrassing him!!
today, i send him a txt , saying i got all my college work in, hope i'm not bugging him but i like talking to him, and to take care. <- hoping to sound not clingy or anything like that but to let him know i liek him still.
After all, it was Saturday since you'd spoken with him, and that means the hours are almost into 3 figures. Men are such goldfish that they've forgotten everything in less than 100 hours.
Why are you contacting him? Is it because you have something to say to him? Are you bored and want entertaining? Or are you just trying to stop yourself feeling insecure?
Your motivations *are* important.scaredy_cat wrote: »so, my conumdrum - do i now leave it up to him to contact me next?
If you have *real* news to share, then share it - you can text him with no "demand" of a reply. But on the assumption that he's not a games player, and on the assumption that's he's telling the truth about being tired - he could well be preferring to spend his time sleeping. Which would explain why he's turned his mobile off.scaredy_cat wrote: »question to bloky types - how does the above seem to you? annoying? clingy? desparate? or 'ok, i know women like to have contact'
If he's tired, he will have a lot smaller tolerance of someone ringing up just for small talk. Especially if he feels there is a expectation that he has to be "entertaining". If he's started his week tired, he'll not recover until the weekend if he has a demanding job.scaredy_cat wrote: »i'm sooooooo confused!!!
You're confusing yourself. Take it for what it says it is, and don't go probing for hidden meaning. If it's over, you'll find out soon enough, and if it is, continuous contact isn't going to help that."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
