Morning everyone - hope you're all well today?

It's been raining heavily here overnight, but it's dried up now. The last few days have been lovely, so very productive on the washing front and in the garden.

DH will be at rugby training this evening, so I think it will be a pasta based tea for us this evening. I'm going to have to get a shift on with my studying, so guess what I'll be doing?

    Have a good day
  • Hi
Have been MIA for last few days going to hell and back with my headache:rolleyes:....after being told on Friday I had to have an MRI scan to exclude tumours and MS etc the Neuro reg examined me on Mon and decided it is a severe form of migrane called status migrainous...ie migraine lasting longer than 72 hours.....hmm mine was over 2 weeks:eek:. Apparently if you are being sick with it you end up in hospital for IV fluid etc but I was allowed to stay home as no sickness with mine. They started me on a heavy dose of Imigran on Mon and after making it worse for a time it went:T, my face is no longer numb on that side and no throbbing head...still have dull headache but not as bad....and am exhausted having had no sleep for 2 weeks. Am back at GP for review today.
Anyone with any migraine tips I would be grateful....I cant afford to spend days in bed with DS to look after. Funnily I have been having headaches regularly over last few months which is unusual for me...I thought they were tension headaches and it seems they were migraines all along:o
Not much OS has gone on but HM meals every night have been managed.
My tomato plants have flowers:j, my tenderstam brocolli is now 6 large plants but no signs of any brocolli....any ideas?
Hugs to all who need them, am off to catch up with yesterdays thread
    xx

    Morning all,

Lovely day over here today. Made a batch of Anzacs this morning and took down the dining room curtains, washed and back on now. Done the windows too. Will tackle the lounge ones tomorrow. DH brought a cauliflower & lots of mushrooms home from the markets today so I'm going to make Cream of Mushroom soup tomorrow and will do cauliflower bake as well.

Not much going on this neck of the woods. I hope everyone is well & happy. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Good morning everyone. Rainy day on the Lancs coast today. I did the laundry yesterday and have the ironing left to do. Good day for it I belive.

Sorry I've been MIA for a while. I feel so out of touch with what all is going on with everyone. :( Lots of gentle hugs for all in need or who want one.

Tea tonight will be carrot & coriander soup that I made yesterday. I have a bit of gammon and cabbage that need using up so will make that into something also. I made fajitas with HM marinade for tea last night. DH really liked them so something new to add into the menu rotation.

Not much else going on at the moment here. So with that I'll wish you all the best of days today.

    Hugs,

    Peyton xx

Hi Mioliere, my brother lives in Villefagnan and shops at the market on a Saturday in Chef-Buttone Brilliant area to be in . Chef has a fantastic cheese shop where the lady will ply you with a glass of wine whilst you choose your cheese.I love the Roquefort, its to die for and a darned sight cheaper than in England. The price of the fresh pulled asparagas at the saturday market complete with earth still clinging to it is a fraction of the 6 twigs of woody stuff from tescos for 3 quid at home.Have you beem to Venise-vert yet at Coulon its fantasic, and you can be punted around the canals and lay in the boat watching the kingfishers dart overhead. There is a great fish restaurunt there as well.
  • Thanks everyone for your thoughts & good wishes over the last few days - Lesley, you can uncross your fingers now! (how can you type like that?!?). Not had the energy/will to sort out the internet probs at home, so had to wait to be back in work to give you an update...

Egg Collection went OK on Monday - not as well as previously unfortunately they only got 5 this time, and had to have extra anaesthetic as it took a while longer, so was quite out of it Mon pm and yesterday. Very uncomfortable with bloated tummy & pains too.
Got the call this morning - as only 2 fertilised they can't go on to blastocyst stage (where they develop them for a few extra days in the lab - they need 4 good ones for this) so they are transferring the 2 fertilised embryos today at 1.30.
I know I should be grateful that there are 2 to transfer - some people get to this stage and don't have any (and as I'm older, thank goodness I don't fall foul of the new guidelines which only allow 1 to be transferred) - but can't help feeling a bit disappointed as we so hoped to get to 'the next level' and maybe even get some to freeze.
Have to confess that I am not feeling optimistic this time around. DH is positive enough for both of us though - He won't even talk about what we'll do if it doesn't work (which is frustrating for me, as I like to consider the possibilities and have a 'plan' in my mind).

OS-wise, not a lot done lately. Was not allowed to cook on Monday after the anaesthetic, so DH got takeaway! didn't even put the BM on, so he had to buy some bread rolls at the bakers on his way to work - he did rather nicely say afterwards that he MUCH prefers my bread - bless him!

Streaming hayfever is making it difficult to get anything done in the garden (never knew how much I relied on anit-hystamines until I couldn't take them!), and the house is a mess which I can't seem to get motivated to sort out at the moment.

Dinner tonight will be something simple - probably one of my 'here's one I made earlier' things from the freezer!

Hope everyone having a good day,

    FE

  • Good Morning OS lovelies! hi.gif

Lesley - cream cheese and banana is actually a very nice sandwich!!! And much as I would love the patter of tiny feet, you are right, it's impossible!
Haribo - frogs and fish don't share water... and although frogs will sometimes lay spawn in a fishpond, the fish just eat it all so it defeats the object. You are right to have one wildlife pond and one fish one as you will get the best of both worlds. During the summer I really only see our frogs late at night when they come and sit on the lily pads or in the water with just their heads sticking out - it's very cute.
Pen-Pin - hope you are OK with the tests today.
Jayward - hope the back is better today
Fairyelephant - *hugs* for you honey, I am sorry you were disappointed but at least there are two. Will keep sending positive vibes your way.

Weather is bright but not sunny today and it's windy so it probably feels colder out there than it is. The washing is drying well though so that is always good.

My OH went shopping very late last night at Asda and came home with half the salad display - bags of radishes for 6p, 8 tomatoes for 8p (so he sensibly bought 3 pkts so we can cook them down) and two big bags of mixed salad for 5p each. I did question that last buy as we have more lettuce in the garden than we can eat!! Didn't get any garden time yesterday though.

Had friends down for an early supper last night, (one of them starts work at 0500 so they normally leave at 2100) and we had an Indian takeaway. I really enjoyed my tandoori main course and we had pashwari naan for the first time and served it with vanilla icecream as our dessert - it was delicious. We bought our naan and popadoms at the supermarket as it's so much cheaper.

I hope everyone has a good day whatever you are doing. Warm gentle grouphug.giffor anyone who wants or needs one.
