    that is a good read, id love to think the 19 year old was on a good wage tho, as if he was, he wouldnt of bought a french piece of crapola, sunroof or not!
    Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
    current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
    Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)

    new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,000

    I bought my first car back in 1986 - a three and half year old MK2 Vauxhall Cavalier 1.6L - cost me three grand that I got as loan over 3 years from my bank. Things were much simpler back then, from a financial services point of view.

    I think you've got far more important things to worry about than what people are saying about you. If you are able to listen to any of them and follow their advice, then you could be in with a chance of digging yourself out of the hole you're in (granted that it's not all entirely your fault you're in it).

    Think you can listen to those older, uglier and wiser than you?

    GET OFF GET OFF. Its not exactly a fun ride.
    If u want a good credit rating get on the voters roll and get a contract fone.
    this generation just love gettin in2 debt as quick as poss to keep up with those a couple yrs older.

    like others have said if the guy was on a good wage, why didnt he save for a few months and buy one cash for 3k?!
