Last time I tried phone banking - noone could tell me how much you could send FP -Not much was the best I could get - so given up with them. Tomorrow is fine - just its a lame dog system. I now want to send £600 to someone - so thinks split it into 2 £500 and £100 and with a bit of luck they'll go FP. (albeit tomorrow)Oops silly me again - can't put 2 payments in for the same recipient.
See what I mean - a nearly but not quite system!0 -
Phone banking told me yesterday that the max. FP they can do is £10K! I was also told that this would leave the account immediately.
Their system tells them whether a payment will go via BACS or FP. SO, yo have the opportunity not to go ahead.
Their system does not always recognize an FP-capable destination as such. I have tried half a dozen different personal accounts (HSBC, Barclays, Tesco, A&L, RBS) and their system said on each occasion No FP possible.Dagobert0 -
See - a nearly but not quite system. You can now send 10K ...........to nowhere.
Still if they are quoting you a figure - I guess thats an improvement.0 -

So, it really has not gone via FP. That means that you can't assume the threshold to be £500 everytime for everyone. (My £500 went via FP.)Dagobert0 -
Shows on my statement as BP.
So what've you got that I've not?
Maybe I'm being penalised for over consumption of vantage accounts
Any way I've set up £100 to HSBC for tomorrow (having split my original £600 payment into 2 chunks to give it a fighting chance of going FP)- I'll report back0 -

The upshot of this is: the system is unpredictable. You just cannot guess what it has been programmed to do.Dagobert0
