I suspect they want your mum to shop there more so they send coupons but they figure you're going to shop there anyway - coupons or not.

    There's definite truth in this.

Nectar aren't so bad, but Tesco Clubcard do this very obviously - when I was living at home and rarely shopping in Mr Ts, I always got much better vouchers than my parents, that did the weekly shop there each week.

Makes you wonder if you're not better off getting several cards and splitting your shopping across them...

I rang them a while ago about this as I never get anything but my mum does. They checked that my options were to receive communications and they were, and they just said my name didn't come up when they were sending out vouchers. Basically end of conversation and I still haven't had anything.

Might get another card and see what happens with that.

Same thing with me, I take my Mum shopping so we go on the same days, I spend twice as much as her but she gets coupons galore and free gifts! I've checked my settings and they're definitely correct.....

I thought my settings were set to send me stuff too but when I got a reply from querying it they said when my account was set up it was put to dont send me stuff so looks like changing it yourself online might not make any difference.

This is absolutely true. We used to shop tescos and sainsburys for 2-3 months at a time, and then switch when the offers came through the post asking us to come back.

oh my word, i've never ever ever received any kind of voucher from nectar to encourage me to spend in sainsburys. I must have my account on a 'no offers' setting. Until I read this, I had no idea that anyone got anything!
I do get something electronically though - its an email which then links thru to a nectar 'my offers' page, which is based around lots of nectar partners, not just sainsburys.

We're lucky in that we live within a mile of both a Sainsburys and Tesco store and have both a Nectar card and Tesco Clubcard. My wife prefers to shop at Sainsburys.
From time to time, we get some brilliant offers from Tesco e.g. £5.00 off a £20.00 spend for 3/4 weeks. So off we go to Tesco and lo and behold, the vouchers come rolling in for Sainsburys, although not quite as generous as Tesco.
Appears both Tesco and Sainsburys monitor usage of Clubcard and Nectar and the result is quite serious competition!

I can tell you tescos are definately doing it. Ive got loads of clubcard vouchers and 20p off type vouchers, they sent me more the other day, It used to be my main shop but now Im mainly in sains.

However I got yet more vouchers again from Sainsburs this week and I have been in a lot recently ( every couple of days for the last few months)

    ??

I sometimes sign up people for nectar cards and the 2 main reasons that they do not get offers is that they have ticked the box to say no to correspondence,or they have taken a card from a form without filling in their details [which means they are not registered.
A good option as suggested before is register another new card [differant number]and start using it after you have got rid of your points from your old card or ring them up to double check you are reg,[which can be a bit hit or miss]
Another tip is make sure all the family[over 18] have there own individual cards as you will all get differant offers but can use them on any of your cards.example if you get a Voucher for 100 points if you spend over £5 on fruit/veg ,it does not matter what name is on it as it is just dropped in the till,so whoever in your family is buying the goods can use it and later the points will come off the relevant card

Another thing I remembered yesterday is that

IF YOU ARE A PRUHEALTH customer- register your nectar with pru online- , when you buy fruit & veg at sainsburys ( fresh only) then this adds to your health points with the pru ( silver bronze etc) as well as delivering nectar points. :j
