Vent about morissons!

well it is simple then isn't it, if you cannot answer the question constructively and be helpful, not spiteful, then go annoy someone somewhere else!.
This was my answer, Please explain how it was spiteful?
To be fair, you asked them to keep it for you, which they did.
Not there fault that the price had increased in the meantime.
Please be constructive and helpful with your reply as I bruise easily.0 -
But I was being constructive...
I was explaining the reasons why the OP had no reason to complain...
I haven't got anything against people venting, it's their right to say what they want to. Just as it's my right to point out they are right or wrong...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

I'd have been as gutted as the OP. I see so many people on this forum who want something for nothing, but she simply wanted to buy something for the price it was advertised for. I know I'd be as upset in the same situation. I have in the past waved bye-bye to something that I couldn't afford right now, and knowing it wouldn't be at the same price a few days, or weeks, later.
The OP wasn't given that opportunity - she presumed that when she came back to the store on the Monday that she would be able to buy it at the same price. I'm not blaming the staff of the shop, just the corporation that reduces items and then puts them back up in price! I hate mentioning the law, but it really should not be legal to reduce the price of an item one week by such a huge amount and then put it up again by the same amount!

That's really unlucky, OP. Have you tried appealing to Morrisons' better nature?0

I used to work in Morrisons whilst at Uni, and am afraid to say that the manager is spinning you bull..... Things like that happened all the time when I worked there and its at their discretion to lower the price again. What a terrible way to treat a a customer!0

Whilst I dont work for morrisons I do work in retail and managers discretion isn't all that straight forward. At the end of the day managers have to report to someone (like a regional manager); and a lot of companies do not take kindly to managers using their discretion for large amounts, especially if it goes against company guidlines.
OP - It's a shame that you lost out on the offer but I must admit I don't believe the store is at fault, although maybe they could have handled it better. As others have said, might be worth your while writting a letter to morrisons h/o and explaining the situation and how disappointed you are. H/o's always have more authority to offer gestures of goodwills than stores do.0 -
I work in Price control at Sainsbury's; I imagine a similar thing happens at morrisons, where we have a certain number of price changes that are sent to the store at something like 2am. Offers can change with no notice at all like that, so whenever I tell someone a price and they are not buying it that day I point out that it could change at no notice. Morrisons should have pointed that out to you though!0

someone said she presumed the price would remain constant, just wanted to say thats the folly of presumption!
well done on blaming morrisons for not actually making a mistake.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000

I was in this situation a couple of weeks back, same shop, same garden set, same scenario with the kids in the car etc. The Morrisons I was shopping at had no problem with letting me pay and putting it in the back for me (although when we went to collect it I was convinced that they'd sold it to someone else, took them over 30 mins to find it!) so I can see why the OP would have a reason to complain. I know every shop is different and all that but all they did with me was took my money, gave me the receipt and wrote my name on the 3 boxes before sticking them back into the warehouse, I don't see why any other Morrisons couldn't do that?0

Unlucky. Just look around somewhere else... Like homebase, I duno maybe they will have a better deal on?0
