how to quickly and cheaply hide a brick wall

hi there im looking for some ideas to cover or hide a 3 ft by 40ft brick wall thought about painting it or could i plant something ivy or something else any ideas would be great! thanks

It was choking our trees. You can see how high up it grew. But as you said, TismE, if it had been kept in check...
My husband wasn't taking any chances though, and pulled the lot out.
