Baby Seats with US car hire

Hiya,
Asking a question on behalf of a friend that is going to the USA for 4 weeks.
So far the car hire companies he has looked at charge for baby seat hire by the day which is going to work out very expensive.
So can anyone reccomend a company that will hire seats per rental i.e. a one off charge ?
Or maybe he should buy some seats at walmart ? (he needs two).
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thats what I did and saved a small fortune. Or, depending on the age of the children and how comfortable your friend is with the ides - for child under 2, take your own car seat onto the flight for the child to sit on, or, if slighly older (& very penny pinching) pack booster seats within their luggage.
You can go to walmart.com and search for child seats by store, taht should give your friend the pros & cons of the pricing.

the costs are normally per day but set at a certain figure for a week and normally have a max, dont prebook them though as brokers will charge you by the day and it will cost you more than picking it up at the rental place, most have a max amount $60, budget and avis do and if I remember correctly so do one of the others think its Alamo.
You can buy them at walmart but that means coming back to the airport and it might be further than you think. We took one in our luggage one year but it was just the high back booster type.0
