Moving house broadband help?

Hi
We're moving house in 2 weeks time so need to sort out our phone/broadband in both houses. We're with BT for line rental and have broadband with Tiscali in this house but we've ordered Sky+ for the new house. We need to transfer the BT line across to keep the number which seems easy enough ... but we're unsure of what to do about Tiscali. Our original plan was to obtain the MAC code and do things that way. But would it be possible/easier to cancel our broadband with Tiscali and set-up a new service with Sky? We're within our 12 month contract so are prepared to pay for the remaining months of the contract, but can anyone help with what we'll need to do when? And the easiest way to transfer across?
