Boiling Eggs and other food together!

I put eggs in with potatoes/pasta if I need to hard boil them. Have done it for years, it's never made me ill, if that " chicken !!!!!! " argument really held true we'd never cook the damn things in their shell at all in the first place.

Well, chicken crap tastes mighty fine to me because just today is boiled chopped potatoes and an egg together (= potato salad) to save me from cleaning an extra pot. Maybe before hand you can just scrub the eggs a bit? I've never bothered though...

our eggs always get boiled in with whatever is being bolied veg, potatoes, pasta etc

It certainly saves on washing up

I did it last night and have had no ill effects so go for it.

Been cooking hard boiled eggs in the steamer, along with the veg, for yonks. No ill effects this way either.

Thought I would post another variation on this theme.

If you are having boiled eggs with your meal and your meal involves boiling other food, for example potatoes, stick the eggs in with whatever you are boiling to save electricity.
Simply take the eggs out of the boiling water when done.
You also get the added benefit of the minerals from the shells (I think)

You might want to wash the eggs first, as they can be covered in chicken poop.

Yeah, I'd never boil eggs with food I was going to eat because they come out of chickens' bums and then sit around in chicken poop before random people (who haven't washed their hands) pick them up and put them into egg trays.
