although the Audi dealer is pretty insistent his car is better and worth more money (which it might well be).
Better test drive both cars and form your own opinion on that. Personally I disagree with the Audi dealer, I've driven both.
  • Anyone any tips for haggling whilst doing a scrappage deal? I got a quote for a new Honda Jazz from bettercardeal on the web which offered a decent discount on the OTR price from my local dealer, but they don't do scrappage deals - "Honda don't allow additional discounts".
I'm trying to buy before the end of November so any immediate tips would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

We are hoping to buy an Audi Q5. Does anybody know if it matters whereabouts in the country the dealer is when it comes to getting a good price? Are dealers in the North more likely to offer a bigger discount than those in the South?

Also, it seems that there is a 6 month waiting on this car. Does anyone have any tips to get it faster that doesn't involve buying a used car?

    Thanks!!

    Volkswagen Golf 2.3 V5 2001 (y reg) 170hbp 20v.

49,500 miles, 5 Door Hatchback, Reflex silver. 17 inch alloys. Petrol, Manual, front/side airbags. CLIMATE CONTROL Air conditioning. Front/rear head restraints, Power assisted steering. Sports seats with height adjustment, front armrest, adjustable steering column/wheel, front/rear electric windows. Remote central locking. Electric/heated door mirrors. Front/rear fog lights. Radio/ 6 CD autochanger with eight speakers. Trip computer. ABS & ASR. Cruise control. Remote alarm/immobiliser. Full VW service history file. it has all it's history, every document, every MOT, every Tax disc. everything.

Been to see this car, it has had one lady owner from new. it's genuine miles, been serviced every year by the VW dealership. It's had new break calibres, new front coil springs, had new ecu 5 years ago because they were faulty on these models but has been fixed. everything that the MOT has showing up has been done. it's been well looked after, the car is in excellent condition for it's age.

What should this car be valued at? he wants £3,750 for it and says glass auto has valued it at £3.995 (but they havent, because i checked and it says £3,580. BUT the valuations i've had from autotrader and various other ones has valued it at £3,000 to £3,300. I dont want to pay over the odds for it.

Has anyone owned one of these cars? what would you pay for it?

Sounds very expensive and the mileage looks dodgy.

It has all that, every piece of document and MOT. I've checked and it's all above board. It was bought from a showroom 10 years ago and had the same owner ever since. it's a good buy but i'm just wondering what the cars true value is. i'd be happy to pay £3,500. It's been fully serviced every year, so i know that adds more value, but also piece of mind that it's in good condition. what you reckon?

They're rare to find in V5s, only one series of V5 golfs were made. i would go for a V6, but insurance is surprisingly much more. well not surprisingly, but much more than i thought.

    Hey people,

Thinking of changing my 08 plate Seat Leon Stylance for a new Seat since they have either 0% vat or 0% finance on their cars.

Now I am looking at the 1.4tsi sport or 2.0 tdi FR.

The FR is 0% finance which seems good deal and rrp is 19750 but on drivethedeal they offering me it for £17540 is this relistic are they genuine and can I use it to haggle on the price as I am going down to Dundee this weekend to test drive both and would like to know how much haggling I can do?

I already had an offer, via internet of part exchange of £7800 what car tell me part exchange of £8545 (only 22k miles on clock).

The sport currently has 0% vat so is curretly £14500 roughly am I stupid to try to reduce this more if I prefer this model. I be taking the convience pack on this as well which is further 225 (minus vat).
