"Hello everybody. Think about when you're writing on MSE. Sometimes you want to quote a post in your reply, and I'm sure that you've all probably worked out how to do that. But what happens if you want to quote two different posts in your reply? Well, here's how you do it:-

Step 1. At the end of each post you want to quote, you'll see a line of buttons, one of which looks like a quotation mark with an addition symbol ........................."

YAY, me understand. Thanks MSE team.

But in the words of Homer Simpson: "Every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain." If I lose my next pub quiz, I'll hunt ye down, forumites. :)

I noticed the multi-quote function and I can't figure it out. :o I'm sure it's easy but only manage to quote one post at a time on separate posts. :rotfl:

I know this is a bit of a silly one but....what exactly is its function and how does it work?

(I'm blonde, tired and sunburnt so forgive the idiocy today).
I don't have a notion! Sat looking at it for a while, but couldn't figure it out!
Thank you thank you thank you MSE for this! Really useful in the Arms :D

Peeps. You click on the MQ button for the posts you want to quote (as I did yours), and it goes Red to show it's been clicked.

Then when you click Reply to write your response (not the quick reply box at the bottom but the Post Reply button), you'll find it has included all of the posts that you wanted to quote.

Not just a pretty face then

Seriously though somehow I managed to get "Firefox" into a loop of some sort when using MSE forum tonight.
Response slowed down to dial up type speeds.
So I did a control+alt+del and discovered firefox using up 50% of the PC, apparently doing nothing.
I hope it has not been sitting there half the night acting as some sort of "bot".
Had to crash it and reboot to regain control of the PC, so I was looking for some sort of explanation - don't think this is it.
