    I am on blueyonder with the same modem, personally I would connect via RJ45, its a lot less hassle as you dont have to install any modem drivers just plug in and thats it!

    USB not really designed for modem use.

    RJ45 plug in , turn off modem , turn on modem , turn on laptop
