I would probably go the play-dough route, but it won't be bad to eat. Might get some extra protein from the weevils.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Seriously, if you see stuff wriggling, don't eat.0 -
Weevils aren't necessarily attracted to outt of date flour. As far as I know they are just as drawn to in date flour
We do have a weevils thread if anyone needs itA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

does anyone know how long you can use old flour for (if at all)? I went to make some dough and noticed the bread flour went off in jan but I hadnt opened the packet at all - would it still be ok to use or should I bin it and get a new bag?
thanks x0 -
Go ahead and use it, it will be fine - unless it has little pests crawling in it
! Dried goods last well beyond the BB date.

I've used flour 2 years out of date before and it was fine. Like the previous poster said, as long as nothing is crawling in it it'll be fine!0

thanking you both, me and little man shall be making home made pizzas this afternoon then! if I'm going to expand my waistline I might aswell do it cheaply!0

I found some in the cupboard from August last year and it was fine x£370/£300 April challenge :T:T0

I agree with the beasties bit, as long as its not moving when you open the packet its fine to use. I did read that the gluten content is supposed to drop over time in flour, but I would imagine that effect bread flour more than cake flour.
Might be worth adding a bit more rasing agent whether baking powder/yeast etc especially if its self raising flour, but for pizzas I reckon it will be fine. I certainly wouldn't be binning it here.

As long as no beasties and no mould you are going to be fine0

Maybe a bit late now but you need to look quite closely for weavils. They are small and unless there are a lot they are hard to spot. If you do find any clean cuboard and use hair dryer to dry nooks and crannies.0
