Free sky world for one month - is it worth hassle??

hi all

I'm a new subscriber to Sky HD, I've taken 2 of the entertainment packs + HD so my bill's around £26 per month.
I've had an email through from Sky offering me a free month's trial of Sky World, ie all six packages + movies + sports. Which sounds very tempting but I've heard lots of people say that their customer service can be a nightmare, and I don't want to take a months free trial and then find I have to spend hours on the phone cancelling the extra channels at the end of the month.

Does anyone have any experience of these trial offers, and how easy they are to cancel at the end, or any other general advice.

I would take it. Very easy to change the package back.

I have personnaly never had a problem getting in touch with them. Just use this number when you want to cancel it back off: 01506 831609

The main issue can be the wait times on the phone just to get an advisor.

i went for it. They cocked up by sending me a letter saying my monthly charge would increase. I then had to call to query this!. Was told it wouldnt be charged extra and yesterday they sent a generic email out apologising for the error so i imagine it affected other customers.

Have a diary note to call them back on the 22nd to cancel the one month freebie.

No you cant wait for the footy season as its only between certain dates mate:-(

I'll give it a go - shame it won't wait til the footy starts but at least I'll have cricket and Lions rugby to keep me amused.

I'm currently enjoying sky world free for a month - plenty of rugby and quickly using up the hard drive with movies.

I'm planning to cancel after the free period, but have heard that I will lose any recorded movies/sport when i downgrade and no longer get the premium channels. Does anyone know if this happens? If so I've got a lot to watch in the next 2 weeks!!

just used the number above, got thru in seconds. Lady said offer on my account doesnt expire until 13th August (my birthday by coincidence) so left it as it is for nearly another month and will call back then!

yep you will lose the ability to replay any recorded stuff off channels you cancel
