Agree with you 'oops a daisy' my boys wouldn't have half as much fun as they do without doing activities and sports, even if I do work all hours to pay for them...but I feel its worth it as there is more chance of them carrying on a sport or activity after they leave school if they have become good/keen and interested in it from an early age.
I think you are doing the right thing..working but still arranging things for your DD to do. :TOfficial DFW Nerd - Member no. 045

My son sleeps half the day and plays on the computer the rest of the time. Daughter really bored and restless but does sudoku most of the time and watches films on filmflex. Cant think of much to do except go window shopping. Have no money for activities. Did this area to death with walks & museums etc when kids young and am now really bored with it.
Has your Daughter thought about some voluntary work if she is bored..perhaps at the library or local sport centre, or has she tried that?Official DFW Nerd - Member no. 045

I have been really happy about the cost of the easter hols so far. We have done alot of the usual free things, baking, crafting, parks etc. I actually think Easter and christmas are two of the best hols becuase there are so many things for the kids to do. Not only are there activites to be found most places but there is all the baking and decorations to be made for the days themselves. This coming week we will be doing the final bit of easter baking, the kids will be decorating their easter baskets and making cards to post to family.
Our local shopping centre has loads of free activities going on and is easy to walk to so i leave my purse at home, pack a lunch and walk down with the kids, they seem to be enjoying the adventure of the walk as much as the activities.
We did spend some money this week but still think we did ok. Me the OH and the three kids traveled into london on Friday, spent the whole day having lots of free fun, ended up only spending £15 in total and that included travel costs. When the kids wanted some suveiners i got them to pick up all the free leaflets and postcards etc, plus take loads of pics and we will be spending this coming week scrapbooking about the day, keeps them occupied and lasts longer than any plastic toy which would cost way more than it should.
Then today we went to the cinema, thanks to the kids club film ticket prices we didn't even spend £6 again for all five of us, and that came out of the holiday money the grandparents had given us to treat the kids. Again took a packed lunch, but noticed that at least half of all the parents there had done the same. Made me laugh as i wondered how many where fellow MSE or DFW's :rotfl:Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash
