Problems with Sainsburys Travel Insurance

Options
I made a claim on an annual no excess travel insurance policy I have held with Sainsbury's Travel Insurance for more than 5 years. The loss adjusters have changed from Hove to a Cardiff office. My original claim form was not passed over to the new people so I had to repeat the claim using photo copys of the originals. The new claim from from Cardiff asks different questions to. The new loss adjusters stick rigidly to proceadure that its very stressful and time consuming - you end up answering the same question twice or more. They are also very slow at issuing cheques. I would not now reccommend Sainsburys Travel Insurance. I have though found a better Insurance company with a high class service and brilliant travel insurance - they are Mondial Travel Insurance. Anyone thinking of taking out insurance should use them.

Thanks for the info, it's sad when they do not like paying up.
We used Direct Travel insurance this year for £31 for 2 adults for 2wks in Europe. Their top cover. I went through quidco too.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

Its a shame you are having problems with your claim, is it for baggage / cameras by any chance.

Out of interest how do you know that Mondial Travel are brilliant, have you had a claim with them yet

Paul - Sainsburys are not an insurance company like the beans they sell - they just sell insurance - the trouble you havwe is with the assistance company contracted to the insurance underwriters. You actually purchased a Great Lakes Reinsurance policy and I think the assist co is Claims International Ltd who moved to Cardiff.

As for referring people to Mondial well I hate to burst your bubble but you will NEVER know how good a insurance policy is until you make a claim. They are all great until it comes to paying out.

If you have not bought a new policy look at the post office, Norwich Union, Barclays Bank or Tesco, they are all great an I make 200 - 300 claims per month! OH! STAY AWAY FROM AXA!
