Advice plz re:3 dongle

Hi at the moment using 3 dongle on contract. This expires at the end of the month. We want to payg so how do we do this please. Can you use the same dongle and sim or do you have to change the sim . 3 are most unhelpful. Dop you have to buy a new payg package or can you use the existing one ? Thanks in advance.
