wow thank you all for useful comments! much appreciated!

maman...I wasnt offended honest and thank you for your input xxx

Yes I see what you all mean about padding, the white ones we found at m&co are perfect and are indeed padded ...but not overly so..... yes the padding is better...no nipples on show etc! There are some lovely ones out there and she is definately more open to trying the different types now as she is getting more confident in what feels right!

Off to check the places recommended....might even treat myself to a new bra!

    many thnaks once again

Don't worry about bras looking sexy. At this young age no one apart from maybe the girls in the PE changing room will see them but I found DD wears her more sensible ones for PE as it doesn't take them long to work out that they want comfort when running around the track or hockey pitch!!

La Senza do ones that have a little clip on them so they can become racer backs. Great for younger girls as often the straps are too long and fall down like this one

I have done the moonwalk several times in the past and in the early days I did the whole bra decorating thing (then I figured that sports bra would be more comfortable - live and learn ) but when I did decorate I found that using Dylon was fine, I used the ones that come in the little pots (can you still get them??) and did them on the hob, admittedly the bra was almost entirely synthetic so that will have helped it to be a more uniform colour but there weren't any problems with the dye taking, I remember one was a lovely bright royal blue!

    Good luck with the dying.
