HSBC Debit Card Mystery

After not working for the whole time, I tried the card yesterday and still no luck in pin and chip.
I phoned HSBC today to complain again and they just apologized and couldn't give an explanation. They said my new PIN is in the post. They said if it doesn't work with the new PIN, then they'll open me a new PLUS account with the same remaining months left.
Anyway, I just tried the card again and it was accepted in two shops, so looks like it's fixed it's self.

I'm not moving from HSBC. While they don't offer UK call centre, save the change, free mobile banking and other features like Lloyds do, I love their machines in bank, internet banking, and pay £13 a month to have the 24/7 UK telephone banking, text banking and other features.0
