Upload some screen shots so we can see what it's like...
And in the meantime, why not just forget Safari, and use Firefox, I never use Safari - Firefox is better and more secure, especially if you use the NoScript add-on.
You might want to give Safari 4 a try. I happily ditched Firefox because of it. Safari is a native Cocoa application, so it handles PDFs like the rest of OS X, and you can use the built-in dictionary and spell checker. Holding down ctrl-cmd-d and mousing over a word in Safari give me this:
Whereas in firefox I get nothing. The only add-on I really use is Ad Block, and there's a version of it for Safari anyway. Safari 4 also seems to be faster, and it's more standards compliant than Firefox.Scaredy_Cat wrote: »Command + M does make the screen minimise and disappear into the right hand corner of the dock.
Yes, I tried that plist thing while on the phone to apple this morning - it didn't work.
Try using AppCleaner to completely get rid of Safari, and then download it again.
Also, did you install any other updates at the same time this started happening?0 -
No, this was a single update. Sometimes they do send 3 or 4 at a time, but this was just one.
I had another update thing today and refused it. I'm too nervous to accept them now.
I have to go out now but I might try that appcleaner thing tomorrow - what will it do? I don't want to wipe off anything other than Safari as there may be something I need.0 -

It will delete Safari and all its associated files. It's also perhaps worth pointing out that Safari 4 requires "Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.7 or Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11 and Security Update 2009-002".
Don't be update-shy now though. I've used Macs for years and never once had a problem with updating software. They do issue updates for a reason.0
