My veg is growing well. Loads of strawberries this weekend. Second lot of beans are poking up. Had to put them in a trough, as the slugs ate the ones in the garden:mad: Beetroot, lettuce , cabbages and carrots are doing well. Rhubarb is still coming too. Anyone want some sage? Morning. I, too, have spent the weekend either in the garden or baking
The boys all seem to be having a growth spurt & I can't fill them up fast enough. 3 trays of Twinks, 2 of choccie & marshmallow crispie bars, a weetabix cake & a tray of Twinks made with half museli. I've also done 3 soups for lunches/the freezer so it should keep us going for a while. No wonder I slept last night :rotfl:
Plans for today are- Dust & Vac through the house
- Washing x 2 out to dry
- Library after lunch
- Make the wedges to go with HM fish gougons & peas for tea
Halight How about smellies so that your wife can have a pampering session? Bath stuff, body lotions etc always go down well here.
Bitsybeans Poor DS - my DS2 used to suffer horribly with ear infections he did outgrow it by the age of 7 but they are awful.
Penelope Penguin Loved the poetry on yesterday's thread :T

Ahhh so tired......
So we have spent the weekend sorting our garden out and now OH and his Dad have ripped out the flooring in the kitchen. We got some fab laminate in B&Q a while back which was half price and then got a further 10% off at till. So it's going down in Kitchen today while I am at work.
OH's Mum and Gran arrive down this afternoon so we will be going out for a meal tonight at a local bistro. we have a 15% off card for there so will be using that to it's full potential.
we planned on BBQ-ing yesterday but the rain came on so the chicken drumstick which I had defrosted got skinned and thrown into dish to make a casserole.
Felt like domestic goddess as was able to whip meal together in instant despite previous plans going out window:rotfl: Thank goodness for a well stocked store cupboard!
Not much other chat I am afraid to say, just plodding on really.
Hope everyone is well;)Spreading the gospel that is Martin Lewis to the future generation....I'm a Home Economics Teacher and being thrifty is the way!:A0 -
Hi everyone,
Back again from a hectic weekend in the north. Dad has been in hospital 7 weeks today. He still isn't doing as well as I'd like, it's going to be a long haul. Visited him twice on Saturday to give mum a break.
Yesterday was OH's nephew's daughter's christening. She is very cute and the do was very OS. SIL had made nearly all the food. Was very cross that she as then left to do everything with regard to the catering, serving, clearing up etc. if me, DH and DD had not pitched in to help she'd have been overwhelmed. I know it's the mum and dad's day but if you're not prepared to give a hand don't invite over 90 people. Sorry, rant over!
Have to get my own house in shape today, do the shopping and washing that didn't get done at the weekend and I am exhausted after so many 200 mile trips to see mum and dad.
Hugs to those in need, especially Beth, what an awful thing to happen to your nephew.
Happy birthday and anniversary to all those who celebrated over the weekend and today.0 -
Morning all,
Cloudy here to-day so out in a minute to get washing in, out since yesterday so should be nice and dry.
DD4 at last starting to paint kitchen, ceiling white and then the rest pink (v pale), not sure about it but bought too much paint the last time I painted and pink wouldn't be suitable anywhere else.....it will be fresh and clean anyway so will go with it until I can't stick it any longer, then will try something else.
Roast pork, mixed roast veg and steamed new potatoes for dinner, was to be yesterday but pork took forever to defrost so is only ready for to-day....no pudding as OH is big into ice cream and gives me a huge portion, not good for someone who honestly needs to lose 4 st.
Kittens have been put outside this morning, they stay in the back and murder each other to their hearts content...frightening to watch sometimes but they enjoy it all!
Hugs to all who are ill or have ill family, especially to Bitsy's DS, can remember ear ache, it is terrible.
