To declare wage rise to OR whilst on IPA?

  • I agree with the others, you need to be honest all the way, the consequences if you aren't will be much worse than having to part with some of your income for the next 2 and half years.

Don't forget that during this time anytime your circumstances change you can submit a new SOA, so if you do decide to rent your own place, the costs for this would be taken into consideration.

What have the CFS figures got to do with BR anyway

If you are going to argue with the OR about the figures used to assess an IPA, then the more information that you have the better.

Although a year out of date, the CFS figures (June 2008) are more current than the OR figures (February 2008).

Errrm no they are not, the BR figs where updated in 08, at the same time the CFS was;)

Now whether they where updated in a realistic manour is a differant question, but the fact remains in most cases the BR figs are more genourous than the CFS, though i concede i have not gone through every possible conatation, i do still have a bit of a life left........just :(
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(

Thanks again for all your advice guys. Just to clear this up - I'm not asking my parents to lie - my father is having trouble with bills and can really do with the help at the moment. So if the OR wanted to ask my parents what i'm paying for rent they will be able to prove it.

Here's what we settled at first time round and I'm paying 66% of the disposable income. Not that easy really as I'm paying for my car (plus insurance/tax/maintenance) out of the surplus (as suggested by the charming interviewer at the OR's office!). I know i should sell the car but i'd get far less than the finance on it anyway!!

But any shortfall would be included in your bankruptcy.
I take you don't need it for work? If not it's a luxury you cannot afford at the moment.

Have you asked your parents how much they NEED from you so they're not struggling? Are you paying 1/3 of all bills, or less?

Yes I'm paying around a 1/4 of the bills as my brother also lives at home and is currently unemployed. I feel I should be making more of a contribution.

Has anyone got a copy of the IPOQ? Is that what I get when I declare a wage rise ore is it another SOA?

You have to ask the OR to send one.

I have just one more question...if your father is struggling with the bills, why have you waited until now with the possibilty of a wage increase to up your contributions, when you could have increased them at any time in the last 6 months?.

The other point i will make is there is no guarentee you will get the same OR as files are quite often passed from person to person. As we well know no two OR's agree on figures, so you may get a totally different outcome to what you are expecting. Good or bad only time will tell.Dx

Thanks Tigerfeet but that is the SOA that I've been paying for 4 months. The emergency fund went down under maintenance payments and 86 was approved.
