Hiya, I would have loved a new drinking glass or mug, Not sure if it would be too delicate? Just as big as you can get
When B/F-ing dd I would have a pint of water next to me constantly and would have been nice if it was a pretty one rather than a plain old one.
Also lip balm, my lips got so bad! Prob due to dehydration.
Nice new slippers- I spent a lot of time in mine!
I would also second the tea tree oil and lavender. Also I used homeopathic remedies with great success, pulsatilla for weepiness, and arnica for bruising and healing, Hypericum for cut's and stitches. Not sure if it's something you would want to put in a nappy cake as such, but I would have loved it if someone had bought them for me!
Looks lovely BTW!0 -
Essential oils: Chamomile and lavender - ideal for hot baths for mum to help with any stitching healing nicely
even if not then both are nice just for relaxing
Chamilosan for nipples and baby bottoms
Lip balm - you get dry lips so easily when BFing
Un-romatic things: breast pads - you go through so many of them! A friend of mine bought me a pack of Avent, I think it was, washable breast pads - brilliant!
Maternity pads - again - you go through SO many that any extra in the early days so you don't have to leave the house would have been a welcome giftDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
There are so many great suggestions given here and so different aswell - every new mum is different . Could you do different themed ones
1. Luxury For the baby knitted hat, booties...
2. Practical for the baby socks, dummy...
3. Luxury for the mum wine, choccies...
4. Practical for the mum breat pads, sudocream...
5. Pampering for the mum essential oils, bath bombs...
I think the list could go on.
Good luck with them - Piccie looks lovely :T.I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has had to overcome while trying to succeed. Booker T Washington

how about...
one of those hand held back massagers? they sell them in boots and body shop i think? ones like that?
muslin squares, flannels, wipes, burp cloths? baby bath sponges? things mums might forget but couldnt live without once tried!
newborn baby toys like rattles?
some sort of bath bomb/ fizzy for mum?
maybe a book on first year or parenting?
sun/winter hat? mittens? socks?
dried fruit/choc/snacks for tired mum?0 -
Really nice shower gel (with a waking up scent!) it was ages before the baby would give me enough time off to have a bath so I showered a lot!
Those little bottles of hand sanitiser, you know that kill germs without having to wahs your hands? I found their brilliant in the nappy bag for when you just can't get to wash your hands (or can't put down a screaming baby becuase they loathe and detest public changing rooms...)
Breast shells (if bfing), so very useful!Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
picture looks great!
maybe some other pampering stuff, like voucher for perfumes/makeup/body washes/lotions for mum - even those small freebie type sizes of treats you get like in the clinique bonus times or lancome gift time. or baby safe toiletries for baby to try - mini sizes
food discount vouchers for those finding it hard to cook meals as before
maybe small boxes/containers/storage ideas for baby bits. photo albums or discount on printing photos.
usually after a new baby mums forget to look after themselves or remember to or even have time to and everyone that gives gifts are usually clothes or toiletries for the newborn so anything that is for mum is nice.0
