    why do there have to be so many choices:confused: how did people ever have babies in years gone by? so many things you can not do/must do and they seem to swap around every couple of years.

    A sprung mattress is better for ventilation, so that rules out all the foam ones.

    There is no point in paying loads of money for pocket sprung, because a baby isn't heavy enough to benefit from the springs contouring. So that rules out pocket sprung.

    Don't bother with gimmicks like coolmax or maxicool for the reasons I mentioned two posts above.

    So the choice is narrowed down to open coil sprung mattresses.
